I am searching for this procedure for chemical analysis of wood charcoal/ ash.
"Mineral N (ammonium & nitrate) Rayment and Higginson 1992"
From literature source I learn this procedure is,
1) Take 15 g soil in 100 ml 2 M KCl.
2) Shake for 1 hour
3) Filter and analyse with spectrophotometry
Kindly advice if this is correct procedure as per Rayment and Higginson 1992.

Dear Sir. Concerning your issue about the procedure for Mineral N (ammonium & nitrate) Rayment and Higginson 1992. Soil was sampled to a depth of 10cm using a corer, then bulked and mixed. Fifteen grams of soil was extracted with 100ml 2M KCl for one hour (Rayment and Higginson, 1992). The extract was filtered, then filtrates were analysed for nitrate and ammonium by colorimetry using a Bran+Leubbe Autoanalyser III. I think the following below links may help you in your analysis:
