But unfortunately I only have terephthalic acid and trimesic acid as organic lingands, and not 2,5-Dihydroxyterephthalic acid. Do you know any MOF with the Zinc metal center that combines with trimesic acid (1,3,5-benzene tricarboxylic acid) and form porous structures (apart from Zn-HLUST-1 as it is non porous) ?

I would suggest a thorough literature search - CCDC, SciFinder - do some reading. I can't profess to be an expert on Zn-btc or Zn-tpa materials. The best way to know what's out there is to go searching for it, it'll give you a good grounding in your field and you will be prepare o answer questions when people ask why you didn't try this or that material. Don't limit your search terms to 'MOF' though, there are plenty of materials made by people who don't work for Yaghi who call their materials 'coordination polymers' or 'coordination frameworks' and variations on that.

I searched a lot along the line of MOF. But didn't try with "coordination polymers" and "coordination framework".Thanks for your guidance. 

If you have some triethylene diamine (TED) you cold try Zn2(BDC)2(TED).  It is also called DMOF.  It it relatively stable, and if you can get tetramethylated BDC it is more stable still.  The metal center is saturated, so you won't get direct drug-metal binding, if that is important.

Krista Walton has done some studies on this with water stability if you want to look those up.

You can try MOF-1 (planar MOF-2 layers coupled by DABCO linkers). It is much more less water sensitive, than MOF-5. But it is water sensitive too, unfortunately. It takes about 24 hours to transform to MOF-2 under aerobic conditions. According to my current knowledge, MOF-2 is the only water stable Zn-terephtalate based MOF. Of course MOF-2 is less porous than MOF-5 (or MOF-1).

Methylated linkers are great idea! For eg. dimethyl, or teramethyl terephtalic acid will help to keep away water by hydrophobic methyl groups.Of course, first you must have a methylated linker to do it...

Have you think about Zn-imidazolate or Zn-pyrazolate frameworks? They are much more stable complexes, than Zn-carboxylates. Stable in water. For eg. ZIF-8 is a good choice

But isn't it non porous because the framework of Zn-HKUST-1 collapse upon activation?
