we are all living in a difficult period which is challenging our plans and concentration. Since fieldwork is now impossible, do you know any reliable internet platform or system to record speakers remotely in good quality files for phonetic research? (for example .wav files, 44 kHz with minimal sound distortion and manipulation)
I recently know a software for perception study, used by a researcher from Hong Kong of China?

It would be good if google forms allowed audio not only in questions but in answers.
Psychophy doe sit, but it is slightly complicated to learn and have the speakers learn, you can't just send it over and wait for something to come back
Otherwise, Whatsapp audios may be fine, depending on the device:
for example on my Huawei p20 pro audios are fairly clear on Praat (I work mostly with f0 though), so the idea is: you wanna record a remote community, you make some tests to check whether anybody in the family/neighborhoos/community that can be physically safely reached, has a phone with a reasonable quality, then let them lend it over to speakers or invite them one by one.
