I am not expert on religion knowledge. But I have faith about God.If you study some books of some religions . You may see that there is some emphasis about plantation in some religion. There is no new religion was exposed within last 100 years. 100 years back there was no question of pollution.All man made pollution within 100 years.You can observe it very well about fall dawn of temperature through out the world. What is the cause of improving the weather ? It is due to corona virus, we are observing the improvement of environment. You may angree , what are you telling ? Here are a few sources on Buddhism and environmentalism. There is probably a lot more material, especially with relation to the movement of "Engaged Buddhism." The first two titles are anthologies, with some of the big names in modern Buddhist studies, both traditional and academic. The third one is a general handbook on Buddhist ethics, which likely touches on environmental issues.

The best book I found on Environmentalism and Islam is "Muslim Environmentalisms" by Anna M Gade
It is one of the most scholarly works I have read on the subject to date.
