Hi Anyone suggest research regarding crop selection or crop management or anything related to farmer issues where I can do research, implementation IoT devices or any new advances or any related papers that will help in my research
The biggest problem of farmer in developing countries inlcuding india is the challenge of sustaining the farm productivity with better production returns...
Better to do your research knowledge gaps among farmers, social groups, gender, age groups for different crop management! How is the knowledge transfer over generation? What is the interest of different social groups? What is the limiting factor for technology use for the different members of the society mentioned above? These are only few of the research questions? You many also deeply and carefully look at , at what stage of the research should farmers participate for the selection of any crop variety?
1. India, we are following many modern techniques to increase crop's yields. Either it is eco-friendly or not, we continue giving importance to improve the crop yield as to withstand the increasing population. Therefore, we lost the uniqueness of olden day's agriculture as these modern techniques reduce the strength of the crops and also reduce land's fertility.
2. Irrigation problems (water sources)
3. Unpredictable climate
4. Pest and diseases of different agri horti crops.
One of the most important problems is crop wastes, especially when all of the crop cannot been harvested because of it's low price so cannot be able to compensate the cost of harvesting.
In this case, all of water, fertilizers, pesticides, soil, and all of resources used in crop culture are wasted.
Soil testing it self a tedious process. If farmer can analyze soil in their farm, i will be very much help full for them. Using modern technologies can you develop on-site micronutrients testing device. Many techniques are available but those are not cost effective.
Artificial intelligence with ancillary soil data can also be useful.
Developing sensors for irrigation and fertilization based on field moisture and nutrient content can also be a major break through.
Modeling and developing apps for calculating soil quality indices as well as product quality can help scientists as well as farmers.
