Is there any theoretical framework that allows for a comparative view of forced migration with "other types" of migration (e.g. expatriation, etc.)?
I am looking for any work that looks at forced migration within a broader theoretical framework on migration. So far, I have only found suggestions of such a perspective in the works of Richmond (1988; 1993) and Bakewell (2010), but have not been able to find any further opinions on this...

There is much debate in Latin American refugee studies about the boundaries between these categories. For example, would you characterise a Chilean fleeing economic hardship during the dictatorship as an economic or a political refugee (probably both)? Another distinction is between exile and refugees/forced migration, with the term exile often favoured among Latin American exiles, viewing exile as forced but also as an active and political act, and being labelled a refugee as passive.
For the differences between exile, forced migrants and refugees, this book has a good theoretical discussion, Roniger, Senkman, Sosnowski & Sznajder (2018), Exile, Diaspora and Return: Changing Cultural Landscapes in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, Oxford: OUP.

to look how in forced migration aspects of actor-orientation still play a role. Even in extreme situations that constitute force people make decisions, they act and to have better insights about their opportunities and constraints to act in extreme situations is surely very valuable.
Though I don't necessary agree with all his conclusions, Edward Said's book Reflection on Exile comes to mind.
