I have predefined a conceptual framework and plan to use Reflexive Thematic Analysis (RTA) to gain deeper insights. However, I understand that RTA is more inductive in nature, and I am unsure whether and how I can use RTA in my study, especially since RTA discourages the use of a codebook.

My plan is to conduct the first round of coding in a fully open and inductive manner. In the second round, I intend to apply a deductive approach. However, I have not found relevant studies to support this methodological approach.

Could anyone provide guidance on whether this approach is appropriate within RTA and how best to implement it? Any references or insights would be greatly appreciated.
