I am trying to develop a basic research in the use of Biogas (methane) without treatment (filtering, etc) to produce electricity through a motogenerator (combustion). Now, I am trying to obtain the relevant bibliography about the point of typical efficiency in this process through the relationship between gas volume (m3 of biogas available per day) and Kw at the terminals of the motogenerator.
In the paper Greenhouse gases emission from municipal waste management: The role of separate collection (Waste management 2009) I reported the value of 1473.4 kWh/tbiogas. This assesment was carried out on the base of the official data for 36 Italian Landfills
1 m3/hr Biogas can generate Approx. 2 KWH Power, but we need to give some primary treatment on gas, before feed to biogas engine
GE Waukesha Gas Engines (combusting Methane from Landfills of between 45-60%) can generate approximate 1.0MW with a volumetric flow rate of approximately 500m3/hour of CH4
