Reference electrode Ag vs Ag/AgCl (screen printed electrodes) ?

Hello

I am using screen printed electrodes with Ag as a reference electrode. Usually, Ag/AgCl is employed as a reference electrode. What are the differences between them in terms of performance?

How act an Ag reference electrode? Does Ag become Ag+ and dissolves in solution?

Please, can anyone help to solve this basic doubt?
