Dear all,

Upto my current understandings, a dessipation of interfacial tension between interfaces describes the value of surface excess Γ (umol/m2), which could be obtained using Gibb's adsorption isotherm,

However, the equation predict the value well for air/water, and non polar organic solvent/water interfaces only.

However, the equation could not predict the value for a polar organic solvent/water interface. I hardly found any literature regarding this issue.

Kindly help me to find literature, addressing the specific issue, or suggest me about factors which influence on the value of surface excess else than dessipation of interfacial tension.

Regards
