I'm currently developing my methodology for an upcoming research project and have a question about the materials I plan on using. I want to incorporate a questionnaire on conspiracy theories and the Internal control index. I'm not sure if I should randomize the combined questions, or if I should separate the survey into two sections one for each measure. Any guidance on these questions would be greatly appreciated.

If all questions use the same response option(s), then it is not uncommon for control items to be interspersed the the main measure. If the two item sets have different response option(s), then you're likely better off presenting the two as separate sets.

As long as the scales have the same response options, you can use either approach freely. However as far as i know, in most of the questionnaires, authors give each scales separately. It might be because you get most likely better results for factor analyses.

Separate sections may encourage a better flow of information from the respondents compared to mixing. That seems common.
