I don't understand with above statement, "with respect to existing literature". Can somebody explain or give an example of how to write the significance and novelty of the work with respect to existing literature?Thank you.
I think it means that you have to show a clear contribution of your article by comparing your work than the existing works in literature. For example, you can show some performance improvement by comparing the results between your work and some existing works in literature. According to my publication experience, I always try to write something in the introduction that shows the contribution of my work qualitatively. Then i choose one popular method (from literature) and compare my proposed technique with this method.
