This material is called Cold Rolled Grain Oriented Silicon Steel (CRGOSS). For this material, if MMF is applied, flux density will be more in oriented direction and relatively less in other directions.

The grains are aligned first by cold rolling followed by inter-critical annealing. Subsequently, the alignment of electron spin in the direction of grain, which is easy magnetization direction , under the influence of magnetic field becomes easier due to less resistance offered by aligned grain boundaries.
