Mine is business and management if it's fine with your software - Int Journal of Bank Marketing; Financial Services Marketing; J. of Marketing; Service Industries Journal are some journals that I use frequently. If it helps I can share my EndNote library with you.
I’ve downloaded your RA software and tried a few of its functions. First of all I managed to download it very easily – your software is very user friendly to download; well done. Here’s my experience of using RA:
I used RA to search for papers by using Google Scholar. It was very fast and pretty straightforward (I don’t know if it’s my perception but it felt more straightforward than using Google Scholar on an Internet browser.)
I have exported successfully an EndNote library with just a few clicks (yet I could not manage to import only selected papers but ended up importing the whole library for some reason!).
I liked it when it allowed me to link a reference to its location on my PC and I could open the original paper directly from the RA with just one click.
On the other hand, I thought the following issues could be improved:
When I wanted to search for a specific terminology it gave me the option of whole RA – if I have more than one folder and want to limit my search to one library only this would not be much helpful.
I am not sure as a reference / bibliographic library it is as user friendly as other libraries such as EndNote. Having three big grey boxes were not much helpful if I simple wanted to use it as a reference library. In EndNote there is a search option. I create keywords for individual sources in my library and can search for sources by doing a keyword search. I find this very helpful for my research; however I could not manage to do the same with RA. I would have liked to be able to change the size of the grey boxes or even hide some – but it did not look that was possible.
As I said, as a search library it is impressive. It is highly likely that those few issues that I outlined above are due to my being new to the software and not being able to spend much time to learn about its wide-ranging functions.
I hope this will help. Good luck with your software,
No problem - I am happy to recommend RA to my students and colleagues. As I said, RA is a very useful software in many aspects. Here's my commentary for your testimonials page:
This is an excellent reference library software. What makes it brilliant for me is it allows to add the source simultaneously into my reference library while searching for materials (without the need for marking the paper, putting in a folder and then transferring into my reference library, which many other reference libraries require). What I also like about Research Assistant is its speed and efficiency in searching for management papers. It is fast and very user-friendly. And above all, it is free.
