New research questions has arose from previous ones.
Q1: https://www.researchgate.net/post/Is_it_possible_to_carry_out_Proximate_analysis_via_Thermogravimetric_analysis_TGA
Q2: https://www.researchgate.net/post/N2_gas_or_Air_should_be_used_for_TGA_of_CARBON_BLACK_CHAR_and_PYRO-OIL
Attached are the TGA results I obtained (for proximate analysis purposes) on the pyrolysis char and pyrolysis oil.
N2 gas of 99.99% purity was used for one test and air the other.
However, both seems to generate almost identical weight reduction curves.
1. Is there a logical reason behind the similarity?
2. How to determine the percentages of
i. moisture
ii. fixed carbon
iii. volatiles
iv. ash?
