Most indexed Journals in SCimago and Scopus gets cancelled after some years of their indexing life cycle. Although, these journals have standard metrics for article production, yet these databases cancel its indexing with the title "Cancelled". For example, the active ones goes with " Coverage: 2010-ongoing" while the inactive ones goes with " Coverage: 2016--2017" (cancelled) (i.e.,SCimago).

What are the possible causes? Can institutions use such cancelled journals during tenure/promotion assessment? Is there any solution to authors or EiC in this regard to get the journals included again.

Expert views are welcome to deal with this issue.
