I've been trying to fabricate PLA microspheres in a microfluidic channel, and I'm using PVA as a stabilizer. I've made a 1% PVA solution, which has been stirring at 60 degrees Celsius for the past two days! I've used this PVA before at the same percentage, and it took a long time, but it eventually dissolved. What could be affecting its dissolution, and how can I overcome this extreme delay?

You should first heat the water solution to 60°C before gradually adding PVA in small portions while stirring vigorously. Ensure that each portion is completely dissolved before adding the next. Also, check the catalog number of PVA and its solubility.
Dear all, most probably it is a low degree of hydrolysis PVA (PVAl is prepared by hydrolysis of PVAc, it can not be prepared by the direct polymerization of vinyl alcohol monomer). Also may be it is an ultra-high MW grade, here entanglements play a crucial role (against) in solubility. My Regards
