I am working with Geobacter sulfurrefucens and I have access to a limited collection of plasmids. does anyone know that pET plasmids or pUC plasmids works for overexpression in this bacteria?
You won't actually know until you try it, but most likely not. Assuming you are looking for replicating plasmids, the typical origin of replication on pUC and pET plasmids primarily work in E. coli and its close relatives (many gamma-proteobacteria but not all). Similarly the pET promoter, which is derived from bacteriophage T7, will certainly not work unless you add a gene carrying the T7 polymerase. However there are some broad host range expression plasmids that have been constructed that might work in your bacterium.
