Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is now accepted as an effective and novel instrument for stimulating economic growth all over the world. In an emerging economy like China, the importance of PPP has gained greater momentum for increasing and sustaining the current pace of socio-economic development. The Chinese Government is also encouraging PPP as a mechanism for faster economic growth, especially in the infrastructural sectors. But, I am getting difficulty to obtain secondary data of above mentioned variables for last Ten 10 years.
Can someone help me to obtain secondary data related to PPP investment and different indicators of economic development in China?

I have no data but a general opinion to share with you.
At one time, Public-Private partnership was considered important for Urban Development. The United States had a program called UDAG—Urban Development Action Grant. When the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) agency’s secretary, Jack Kemp, came on board during the 1980s under the Regan Administration, he did not fund the project, leading to its death. The reason was that it did not generate the impact on the local economic base that was expected in terms of job creation, and recapture of fund for secondary impacts.
UDAG was operated under a “But For” condition. If the project was not financially feasible under private market conditions, a gap in financing existed, and the public sector will pick up the slack. I can see that this kind a financing will be popular in undeveloped countries, given their sparse sources of funds.
PPP as you called it is again contemplated under the Trump administration for infrastructure investment. We have to wait and see if it will work.

I come from China, and my family work in a state-owned enterprise in mineral industry. And I currently study in Germany as PhD. Perhaps I could provide some private experience and academic tips to you.
Personally thinking, it is vain to want to get accurate data or information about the condition of PPP in China. Recently, the reform in state-owned sectors are getting more and more sensitive. It is famous that Chinese government plays an important role in economic growth and urban development. And the role of PPP in current stage is still not clear. Government's attitude towards PPP is ambiguous because of socialism.
From the perspective of academic research, there is probably no trustworthy data which could be available. As for the distribution of shares, the common method to seperate property, there is almost no accurate data. So, I am not optimistic about whether you can obtain the data which you are requiring.

Dear Ahmad, I discussed ed with someone from state owned bank and get the information that even banks didn't have data bases for risk management or benefit evaluation. They made approval desicion by experienced experts' personal advice. This PPP program is a new relationship construction between local and central governments.

China has regulated the standard process to evaluate and employ PPPs projects and publish these information in an official website.
Information on website involves types, numbers, models, amount, contracts of selected PPP projects. In addition, the website also releases the quarterly report to review the whole development process of Chinese PPP projects.

2. PPPs and Economic Development.
As far as I know, there is not an article have studied on it.
Normally, studies will discuss how infrastructure investment affects Chinese economic development, then implicate that PPPs will help this relationship. Or studies will explore the economic impact of PPPs in specific areas.

3. Potential Hurdle in your research.
As I am a freshman in this minor filed, my opinion would be immature. I think you may face difficulties below.
(1) Hard to evaluate the PPPs projects.
As the definition and typologies of PPPs are ambiguity, it is very hard to accurately recognize the aims, organizations, and results of PPPs. Meanwhile, PPPs combine plenty of stages and contain many participants; it is also hard to use the simple indicator to represent the effect of PPPs. I think only concern on the financial issue in PPPs is insufficient. You may need to develop a comprehensive evaluation method.
(2) Hard to acquire the real data, especially in this sensitive period.
Recently, to avoid the misuse of PPPs by local government, the central government implemented a “ cleaning program” to cancel a series of non-standard PPPs projects. Local government officials and industry practitioners are unwilling to talk about their PPP projects. It deteriorates the data acquisition. However, the website I mentioned above also contains a lot of data, such as the detail of PPPs contracts. You may consider to extract the crucial information from these disperse documents.
