I heard that some countries promote academician or researcher to the level of assistance professor, associate and so on even though the professional has no PhD. Is that possible to promote academicians and researchers to assistance professor, associate and soon with out PhD? Please share the trends in your country.

Dear Getu Habte . Normally the promotions applied after the PhD degree to Assistant, then Associate and finally to Full Professor. I think without the degree , the promotion can’t be applied.
No problem at all,especially if he is holding ms, for the research of his degree gives him route to think and create original articles which enable him/ her for promotion. Regards.
It used to be the case but now the 'rules' have changed in Ghana, my country. In Ghana now, to be promoted to the rank of Associate Professor, you need to obtain a PhD in a related filed, and have not less than 7 journal publications as a senior lecturer. The Academic ranking in Ghana is
1. Full Professor
2. Associate Professor
3. Senior Lecturer
4. Lecturer
5. Assistant Lecturer
...in order of seniority from 1 to 5.
