There is no advantage of using 2D HMM over the 1D HMM.

The 1D is sufficient and faster than the 2D.

I have gone through many papers and most of them are showing significant improvement over 1D HMM. But none of them are giving any details of programming.

Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I already have this code and trying to understand it As there are no comments in the code so its little difficult to get.I am still working on the code to change according to 2D HMM.

Meanwhile I will go through the your papers and hoping to get some solution out of them. Keeping my fingers crossed.
