I have Gamry Interface 1000. I wish to do cyclic charge discharge at constant current at 4 mA within potential window of 0 V to 1 V. My working electrode is Polyaniline, counter electrode is platinum foil and reference electrode is Ag/AgCl in 1 M H2SO4 electrolyte solution. My question is that how i can know the charging discharging time of the material as asked in software see attachment 5. In literature, some paper shows charge discharge time around 600 sec & in other it is about 250 sec. so what i have to do with Max. Charge & discharge time ? Regards Sachin Kumar
About Max. Charge & discharge time (window): set some (high) value, say 1000s as a practical preset value.
Also, set the potential window of 0 V to 1 V (ref. claim, vs. Ag/AgCl), e.g.
1) V(Discharge Stop At 1: Voltage 1 V, registered, already, as valid, in your figure.
The proposal Charge-Discharge cycling (at 4 mA) will be, decently, confined (only) from the (V-Limit) potential window V-Limit(s) presets.
So this proposal galvanostatic cycling will be NOT based under any specific (charge/discharge) time confinement, as you are asking, since this wide time (protection: tLimit) compliance seems as plentiful (tLimit ~ 1000s > 600s > 250 sec) for your case.
randomly set the values, let's say 500 sec for each. according to the properties of your electrode material, you will get the charge-discharge curve..we get linear and triangular-shaped charge-discharge curve for EDLC based material; and non-linear curve for pseudocapacitive material (as per the literature).
When you fix voltage window and the discharge date, time to discharge will be an out put, not a control parameter. So you can find it in results file.
