Presenting non parametric data?

I feel conflict as majority of biological data especially with small sample size not normally distributed so which is the most true:

Median-IQR

Median - range

mean -standard deviation

Mean - standard error

Some says that mean and standard deviation are not wrong I need reference for such claim

Median and IQR

Since central tendency measures are biased in this case it is better to use dispersion measures.
