Preparation of 75% (w/v) calcium nitrate-methanol system?

Hi,

I am going to dissolve silk fibers from spider using 75% (w/v) calcium nitrate-methanol solvent. However, I am not sure the purity of methanol should be used. Can anyone help me on this especially those working in this area.
