I have not entirely watched the youtube video as it was too long. But considering the title of this discussion, I think your question relates to calculating the plastic hinge length of an RC shear wall. To my knowledge, there are some options:
1- record strains at multiple parallel stations (sections) at two longitudinal rebars near extreme fibers of the wall when it reaches its targeted deformation. Subtracting the strain values to the distance between the rebars gives the curvature. If you draw the curvature diagram of the wall, the length in which the curvature is nonlinear is the plastic hinge length. If recording strains is not feasible, assign nodes and record their displacements instead. This gives you the section rotation diagram (i.e., the integral of curvature over length). Subtracting each section rotation from its previous one successively and dividing it by their distance gives you a rough estimation of the curvature variation. But in this case, you need many stations and, subsequently, a vast number of nodes.
2- record strains within the length of the tension rebars (those near the extreme fiber). The point strain passes epsilon_{y} (stress passes the Fy) can roughly be the start point of the plastic hinge.
3- consider the force in which the push-over diagram starts to become (significantly) nonlinear as the yield moment. At the target deformation, draw to moment diagram of the wall. The distance between the yield moment to the base would give a fair estimation of the plastic hinge length.

Please note that the core idea is that the deflection mode is flexural. In the case of short walls or those with fixed-fixed boundary conditions, shear also plays along, which needs to b considered.
