We are doing the same protocol for 10 years (standard fixation 4%PFA, 2.5%GA in Karnovsky buffer, postfixation with OSO4, UA, dehydration and resin (Agar) embedding), in last few months we got this precipitation (according to EDX Uranium). All solutions were changed, Uranyl acetate were centrifuged and filtered.
Dear Anya, this is a very interesting technical question, and I'm sorry to see that it has not yet received an expert answer.
