I am doing a simulation of methane combustion with air using Fluent. The geometry includes two big planes with catalyst coated on them.
The gas phase mechanism, gas species thermodynamic, surface mechanism, surface species thermodynamic and transport data are in chemkin format and imported into Fluent.
The mechanism files definitely have no mistake since I copied those files from chemkin installation package and can be imported into Fluent without any error.
However no matter what kind of modification I implement, there is always error at the beginning of calculation which says 'received a fatal signal (segmentation fault)'
By the way, no UDF is involved in my simulation.
I attached a word file which describes my setup and model in the attachment.
Hope somebody can help me with it.
Have you tried to run the simulation without the catalyst and surface mechanism? That way, you can at least figure out whether the issue is with the gas combustion or the surface mechanism.
