Farmers in Kasese district western Uganda have benefit from COVID outbreak. That they were challenged by theft of their produce during night hours. When government introduced curfew measures, theft of vanilla ceased in the district. For dark cloud, there's always a silver lining. So tell the other positives from COVID outbreak. Thank you.

it is in my opinion a pseudo-positive effect. If you catch thieves red-handed they get sentenced for a term in prison while the rest of the people abiding by the law can act free and unharmed. In your case you imprison all people encompassing the good and bad ones to contain the pandemic and by the way maintain law and order and kill at the very end the entire business which could be to some degree jeopardized by the thieves. It is like using cannons to catch a fly and along with that demolish the entire building where the fly is fluttering around. Adequate measures taken in this situation are a better option.
I would have accepted that people of the so-called high-risk group, me included, are quarantined for a certain period of time just after outbreak of the pandemic while the young ones are still kept working, be it a farmhand or a policeman. There are much more free valencies for the younger people in this case to do their job during this temporary peer-group oriented curfew for the elder people.

you are right in your view of the situation but which conclusions will we draw from that all ? The first signs after a diminishing impact of the pandemic im my country are not very promising.
Lessons learnt ? Obviously not yet.

In countries with poor and dilapidated health care systems, I think Covid-19 is an eye opener for the authorities to do the needful in investing in the health care infrastructures, and indeed the overall welfare of their citizens. There are several countries out there that have started learning these lessons through the hard way of Covid-19.
Thank you, Mr. Ndalahwa, Prof. Harald and Mr. Stephen Taiwo. For contribution. We can build from positive impact of COVID, despite of heavy damage, pain, crisis. My government has realized the importance of revamping railway line.
A positive outcome could be that people realise that their freedom and human rights are not something naturally given but something you have to defend if these rights are in danger of being removed. It needs hundred of years to get these rights but it takes just one signature under a bill which turns justice to injustice.

Thousands dead, many lost their jobs, educational institutions almost closed, transport severely disrupted and what not.
There is no surety of anything tomorrow !!!
So I would like to throw aside the positive effects, if any.
