I have a microfluidic device prepared from PDMS, bonded on glass. But when I try to flow polystyrene beads through it via using syringe pump. They get stick to the PDMS channel walls or at edges, even at inlet opening and block the flow. Kindly help me how to avoid this and have a smooth flow.
Hi Amina Farooq , polystyrene beads are slightly hydrophobic so will tend to stick to hydrophobic materials such as PDMS. Try using a low concentration of surfactant (e.g. 0.1% Tween 80) to reduce this interaction. This is pretty standard approach in our lab Article Particle Focusing Mechanisms in Curving Confined Flows

I personally haven't tried but other water soluble surfactants should work.
