Hello everyone,

I am trying to find the point within irregular shaped polygons that maximize the interior (aka distance from all polygon edges). I have forest plots that have very strange shapes and I am looking to place traps where the greatest "interior" of the stand would exist. Centroid points are mostly giving me points outside the polygons, and when I "calculate geometry" and use "central point x/y coordinate" I cannot tell what the algorithm is doing. I also can't find any good information on ESRI about "central point x/y coordinate". Any idea how to maximize distance to polygon edge? I am using ArcGIS Pro. Thank you!
