I have been advised not to publish the paper in Plus One by a renowed professor. He advised me to make an effort to publish articles in a well-reputed journal in my discipline rather than Plus One. As I know, its impact factor is decreasing (although I know well that the impact factor does not represent a quality of the journal or paper). Nonetheless, some scholars in my discipline are publishing their papers in Plus One. I am a little confused. What do you think of the journal, Plus One?

Oops. Yes, you are right. I meant " PLoS one." The journal is an open access journal. About $1,500 vs JIF of 2.766. Well. I would not choose the journal...

Ah, I have two reasons. First, Plos One is not a nursing journal, and by extension, it is not considered as a highly reputed nursing journal in my discipline even though Plos One has a good impact facor. Second, it is too expensive. There are so many free nursing, medicine, and public health journals with JIF of 2.0 and over. My perception is thus that Plos One is a choce of scholars who would like to publish FAST even if they need to spend money. That is, their choice is for a quantity or speed, not for a quality or the best.
You can select any journal as you like, but it should not be based on wrong reasons. PLOS One is a journal published by the Public Library of Science (PLOS). In fact, PLOS series of journals were started in protest against the negative attitude of journal publishers to make the full text of the articles free and unrestrained access to all. PLOS Biology was the first of the series. The following are prominent PLOS journals.
