The fossil in the thin section is observed in a limestone developed during K-T boundary. Can anyone suggest me the name of this organism? Is it the trace of honeycomb coral?
Per the Recent Complex creation Framework the K-T boundary is 'The Ring Around the Collar' of the receding flood waters as the Mabul year asteroid impact/s debris settles back to Earth.
So RCCF calibrated to 1657 AM so about 4120 years old.
It looks like it may be insect eggs, or some other type of eggs.
It looks cheilostome bryozoan specimen. Preservation is not adequate for any detailed identification. I do not think it is any species of honeycomb coral.
The specimen in the lower frame cannot be confidently identified as Bryozoan skeletal element as per the scale provided. What are other fossil remains associated with this specimen and whether this sample comes from Cretaceous or Palaeogene and from which region? Thanks.
