I want to know about the crystal structure of Lanthnum hexaboride in depth how the orthogonal boride cage remins intact around lanthnum atom to provide specific properties like high temprature which makes it a good material for electron gun?

Why this material is used for thermoemission electron gun material?

If possible please give me some refrence material which make it easier to understand.

Thank you for helping me.

Do you mean LaB6: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lanthanum_hexaboride ?

YES SIR, LaB6.

'orthogonal boride cage'- The way 6 boron atoms are arranged in a fashion they look like orthogonal structure and the boron atoms surrounded the lanthanum atoms forms like there is boron cage. I have understood this much.

What do you mean by "remains intact"? means in high heating condition because I am looking to understand especially for cathode material used for electron gun.
