I need to calculate SE for an SMD. Could anyone confirm for me, with a worked example?

I have from here revman5-calculator.pdf (cochrane.org) that

SE for SMD = Sqrt (N/N1N2 + SMDsqrd / 2(N-3.94)) (sorry don't know how to put symbols in here - see the link pg 4 or web capture below ).

Are there caveats around when that can be used?
