I have these solvents and I want to know how useful or relevant they are to my research work.
I do not have a specific plant to extract now, for experience I just want to know what phytoconstituents it may possibly extract.

The paper shows possible phytochemicals present if a specific solvent is used for extraction. It also shows the different types of extraction techniques and their advantages/disadvantages. Regards!

Acetic anhydride is not properly a solvent even if some substances are soluble in it. Generally anhydrides are very reactive compounds, in particular with hydroxyl group as alcohols and phenols, to give the corresponding esters. Also amines react with anhydrides to give amides. The high reactivity of this compound surely introduce several artifacts in the extract, and you will isolate compounds which are not contained in that form in the plant, mainly acetate derivatives. In addition from the reaction of an anhydride also the corresponding free acid is forming and this is another problem because the acidic environment of the extract may catalize several reactions, e.g. the hydrolisis of glycosides, very often present in plants extracts. I suggest to use solvents less reactive. Usually were used hexane, dichloromethane, methanol, ethanol, water. In the choiche for the best solvent to use, you should consider the polarity of the plant constituents which you want to extract.
