i have to start my doctoral research programme in floriculture and landscaping, please suggest some topics if possible provide with some material or technical programme , what to do and how to do
The world is open to you! What intrigues you in the cultivation of flowers and landscaping? What serious literature has been written about these areas? What are the unanswered questions in the intersection of these two fields? Genetic engineering of flowers? Growth regulators? Flowers as therapy? Worldwide market for flowers? Bees, butterflies, moths? English versus Japanese flower gardens? Ground cover? Border planting? Thrips cntrol? Role of the commissioning agent? Safety of flower pickers? Tools for prior planning and visualisation?
For a PhD, you are expected to draw up your own programme for study. It will be highly personalised, as it will depend on your answers to the above questions.
When you have settled on your research question, using keyphrases from your question, you will search for and study all the scholarly articles you can find. Then start in all seriousness by writing a review of the patterns you see emerging in the literature.
Get hold of a few books or Web sites on how to do research and flower culture.
