When a reputable peer reviewed journal publishes a manuscript.....and when you report to that journal that the published work is plagiarized from another published work. You provide them with the evidence and the journal refuses to address the misconduct or investigate as per their own published policies in this regard. Where can you go from here? There appears to be no authority of oversight over journals that refuse to clean up their own backyard. How can we as scientists force journals to honor their own integrity policies? Is there any organization within science or the government that will police a journal that refuses to do so?
