How to get effective pigging in new Pipe line?? Pig had been stuck inside pipe dia 6in. we use 8 kg/cm2 compressor and apply max 2 kg/cm2 in actual operation.....but not success....
What is the working pressure? The simplest solution is to apply more pressure. If that fails, you will need to cut that pipe section...
Is there any chance you can force it the other way, to go back, by applying the pressure from other side?
Is the pig stuck because air is by-passing? Or is the pig not moving when the upstream pressure is 8 kg/cm2 (about 20 to 25 psig) and the downstream pressure is at 0? This is a very low pressure for a steel piping sytem. Normally the pipe system should be able to handle a higher Maximum Operating pressure so as Goran said, more pressure should start the pig moving. Do you have 90 degree elbows in the pipe or transition bends? Elbows can be problematicfor pigs so often a ball pig is used? What type of pig is being used?
