Wikipedia (2015) mentioned that in plants Fibonacci phyllotaxis prevails over Lucas one. But I coudn't find any reference to that fact. Do you have one with quantitative estimation of that dominancy?
In Plants Fibonacci Phyllotaxis is a dominant feature, wheres Lucas sequence constitutes a small percentage. Kindly look up: Stakhov and Aranson (2011): Applied Mathematics, 2, 181-188. and Phyllotaxis: A Systematic Study in Plant Morphogenesis. by Roger V. Jean (1994). Cambridge University Press, for insight. Best Wishes.
