What philosophical paradigm would be appropriate for analyzing qualitative data both inductively and deductively, especially when the analysis is guided by predetermined questions derived from a theoretical framework? Would this still align with a constructivist approach, given the use of a theoretical framework to guide the questions?
I am not sure why you need to concern yourself with paradigm issues at all. From my personal point of view, that an out-of-date perspective that served a purpose back in 80s and 90s, but no longer has much relevance for how do to actual research.
Instead, what you need is a well-specified research question and an equally well justified method for addressing that question.
In qualitative research--and perhaps sometimes in quantitative research--theory need not drive your research. Rather, theory can be generated in research, then tested by actual circumstances, which can bring refinement and enhancement of the theory, and thus greater congruence with the context and topic. If your committee will allow the freedom to generate and test theory as you do research, the results are likely to be more robust.
