In the case of diabetes. I have observed that alloxan cannot sustain diabetes for longer periods except one decides to use streptozotocin. I don't know if one can give incremental doses in the case of phenylhydrazine in order to sustain anaemia as I still can't say categorically that it can sustain anaemia for longer periods.

The breed of rat , sex, age, drug dosage, and other numerous factors need to be considered here. I am not sure . There may be drug resistance and reversal of drug effect based on immunological state of the animal.
