Consider the following fact: To this day, no one out there can tell us what we perceive as musical pitch in the midst of spectral variability of signals that generate the same subjective pitch. I examined the spectrum of several audio signas from different instruments that generate the same pitch, each had a different spectral structure. So I raised the question how a pitch meter does it. Till today nobody has given an answer. If the sound from a simple stretched string is not understood, how can algorithms explain the quality of a complex acoustic stimuli such as speech sounds? I have stressed the point that music, speech, and hearing research are founded on an unscientific foundation. The foundation laid by Pythagoras (6th century B.C), Ohm's law (1843), and Helmhloltz's theory of frequency perception (1877) are not scientific. Therefore, technology based on these laws cannot work. Whatever they give are sources of controversy. Sorry I'm using my phone for this.
