However, in all those works, the authors linked the nanoparticles to some targeting agent such as SynB peptide or Epidermal Growth Factor, in order to overcome the blood brain barrier; or in the works the authors only use an "in vitro" aproximation.
I am looking for the critical size without using targeting agent or delivery agent.

when brain tumours develop the brain endothelium can be modified, to a different extent depending on tumour type and grade, in its morphology and function, resulting in a "blood-brain tumour barrier" (BBTB) which is often leakier than the normal BBB.
The following studies deal with the passive permeation of dendrimer NP across the BBTB.
