I tried generating the surface through the method you suggested .But it is not generating the surface. I am attaching the image of the Multi-pass welding bead to which the surface has to be generated, after partition.
If I can generate the surface in between the layers, I can give the surface film condition over each bead after each pass.
I attach the snapshots of the surface generation process:
Viewport1 - partition; Viewport2 - display group for one of the obtained cells; Viewport3 - selected face (after that Tools>Surface>Create... should be performed); Viewport4 - generated surface.
Victor J. Аdlucky I tried to select the surface for the first bead ,as you said in the viewport 3,but unable to select the top line(which is the surface of bead one).
Is it because of 2D geometry?
or
Is it because I partitioned the face by sketching the geometry over the face?
For 2D geometry it is not necessary to create display group because all partitioning edges are available for selection. Selection of desired edges should be made before surface creation. In the surface creation dialog don't select nothing, push Done and choose desired side of the surface.
