I would like to understand the important parameters to control the time integration of the particle trajectory equations in discrete phase model (Max. number of time step, the length scale or step length factor) with an example.
-velocity of particle and continuous phase same (no slip) = 0.23 m/s
- the length of cell (delta x) for example 0.001 m

Do you have already a running model so that you can do experiments?
The most fundamental test is (I assume that no automatic time step control is activated)to compare particle trajectories computed with n integration steps of dt duration (each) with the corresponding computation of 2n steps of duration dt/2. If your final simulation results are stable with respect to this transformation you are in good shape. Otherwise, you have to reduce your time step. If such experimental runs take prohibitively long times, you probably should prepare a simplified version of your model or, if it is suitably parametrized, choose less ambitious values of the parameters.
