Can anyone answer the question: Are there possibilities to paleontologists to use nanotechnology for solving problems related to different areas of their research?
With regard to fossils and age determination, drug-carrier nanoparticular systems that we use in pharmacy and radioactive marking materials can be used with them. It is possible for me to discuss this in detail with an academic who works on nanoparticles and marking with radiopharmaceuticals and to produce a joint project.
One of the nanotechnology applications in Paleontology is Nannofossils which is the latest common index fossils used in biostratigraphic dating. And moreover, currently, this technology was used in reducing the size and efficiency of the mass spectrometer which is a chemical analysis instrument, used to identify the tiniest compounds within a substance, such as a blood sample or a new drug. as in the following references;
