The concepts, such as mass, time, distance, speed and so forth are valid for the reality we happened to inhabit. They are of limited or of no use in describing the infinitely large and the infinitely small. Both Quantum Physics and Cosmology have shown the limits of these concepts. Therefore in order to understand phenomenon such as Quantum Entanglement we will need new concepts. Just like the the latitude and longitude are imaginary lines we use to find a position on the globe, so also we must realize that the physical conceptions we have been using are also imaginary and our own creation to understand the sliver of reality we inhabit. In order to comprehend the reality that lies outside the one we inhabit, we need new concepts and therefore a new physics. The question is, "Is it possible for our minds to escape the prison of our own conceptions within which we have been trapped for such a very long time"?
Most research only brings at best only incremental progress over what is already the state of art. usually the only research one pays attention to, because it is understandable. guess you know that already.
Progress only responds to new stuff that does not fit in, and partial or complete crisis in already held viewpoints.
Physics is pretty much trapped since 1930 or so.
At some point the gradual improvment in technology may point in new directions, but the theory is already excessive, non conducive.

The zero and infinity are mathematical concepts that have nothing to do with physical reality. When physicists say that particles are points (zero) with properties clearly indicates that they have no idea. When they speak of singularities in the black holes or the origin of the universe, what they do is to mask their ignorance, and in that way they seem to know what they are talking about. According to present physics the particles acquire mass through the Higgs mechanism. With this it seems that the concept of mass is already clear. But this mechanism does not allow to calculate the mass of the particles. Now if I say that the god Thor has three hammers, if he hits with the hammer 1 we have an electron, if he hits with both we have a muon and if he hits with the three we have a tauón. This mechanism does not allow to calculate the mass (like the Higgs) but to explain why the particles acquire different masses. It explains more than the Higgs mechanism, but evidently this is not physical.

The problem is that physics is based on mathematical theories obtained from the properties observed and from these properties it is impossible to explain the structure of the elementary particles. It is like trying to explain the structure of a computer from what it does: writing, adding, drawing, listening to music, learning English, etc.
unfortunately physics is no longer open to everyone. it has become the insular and the play ground of professional physicists, who define a physicist as someone who has done doctorate in it. this is an artificial barrier they have erected to keep others out just like a fraternity or a sorority. Newton made his discoveries as an undergraduate and so did Einstein, he did apply for doctoral degree and was given to him later, by that time he had already published three of his most important papers. Actually, Einstein did not even had a baccalaureate, he had a teachers diploma when working as a patent clerk. the reason i am bringing up this is to show the people that physics is no longer something to which the entire humanity can contribute. it is only a self selected group of people who likes to keep it to themselves and write books and do television programs to awe the public, and thereby make money. it is interesting to note that the "professional" physicists, such as mikio kaku, stephen hawking , will not consider an idea from an undergraduate to be worthy of consideration, while they write books or talk to the public on mind, brain and consciousness as if they are an authority on such matters. kaku has no idea what a neuron is and he thinks he can talk about consciousness, while at the same time he will not listen to a high school student who probably has the next breakthrough idea in physics! we are truly going through a dark age in physics.
