Using Matlab or R, has anyone tried to subset the ESA-CCI dataset for range of Latitudes and Longitudes ?
I am facing problem in extracting the variables from *.nc.
Since the ranges of Lat [-90, 90] and Longitude [-180, 180] in the dataset leads to file dimension of (760x1) and (1x1440) respectively
By using the ncread function in Matlab it is super easy to subset netcdf files
Send the netcdf you want to subset, and I will provide a more specific example
Confusion in soil moisture range given in % ranging 0 to 100
I am working on a project of online drought monitoring system for India . I have downloaded AMSR2 LPRM Model data from the online archive from the link https://hydro1.gesdisc.eosdis.nasa.gov/data/WAOB/LPRM_AMSR2_A_SOILM3.001/ having extension (.nc4) for Level 3 data of soil moisture.
The data has values given in the range of 0 to 100 % but by refering JAXA's data they are giving data in the range of 0 to 60% for soil moisture. So can i know the ,meaning of this range and how does this differ with JAXA's AMSR2 Level 3 dataset.?
AMSR2 data are distributed as relative soil moisture, i.e., between 0 and 100%. Not in volumetric unit
In R is very simple to read nc files.
You can use the raster package and ncd4 package to read the images .nc and them convertto GTiff, if you prefer.
