We know materials melts at a certain temperature. ( Not all materials). In different literature it is found that the melting point of this material is this .
But , there is highly dependency on pressure. This is basically due to amount of heat.
So, in conclusion, what can I say about melting point ?

Heat and Temperature are closely related to each other,
Heat-> total energy of the motion of the molecule
Temperature -> it's a measure of energy
HIgher energy higher temperature, at a certain pressure.
If pressure varies, the melting/boiling point definitely varies. Higher the pressure higher the melting/boiling point.

My confusion is with temperature variation of melting point.
I have produced plasma at air pressure of 10^(-3) milli bar.
Calculated electron temperature and ion temperature are about 2 ev. So that's very high. So the situation is low low pressure and high temperature. But the steel electrodes remain unaffected.
Please clarify. I will be highly obliged.

Nityananda Das Melting point, though in general is referred to as a temperature, it also depends on the operating pressure. In thermodynamic terms, if you are looking to find what the melting point of the given material would be, at the pressure you desire, I would suggest you to calculate its heat of fusion, since "From a thermodynamics point of view, at the melting point the change in Gibbs free energy (ΔG) of the material is zero, but the enthalpy (H) and the entropy (S) of the material are increasing (ΔH, ΔS > 0). Melting phenomenon happens when the Gibbs free energy of the liquid becomes lower than the solid for that material"
