I have not done an ELISA yet, but I am trying to prepare for one. Once I dilute serum using the general diluent, can I use the diluted samples for a different ELISA kit or do I need to dilute new samples?
EX: I diluted serum for an IL-6 ELISA, but in the future I want to run IL-1b ELISA...can I use the same diluted sample?
In my opinion, it would be more useful to prepare a new dilution for a new set of experiments using another kit. However, if the ingredients of both dilution buffers are the same, it would be also ok (but not optimal) to use the dilution prepared before.

It would be more appropriate to use a new preparation of the sample, but if it would necessary, you could use the same.
I think it is better not to use it again. Rather prepare a fresh sample.
